Amanda has a heart for putting students first…

Resources should be directed towards enhancing student classrooms, academic excellence, mental wellness, and key areas such as STEM, career technical education, the arts, personal development, and real-world learning experiences. Extracurricular activities are a critical component of our student’s education, their pursuit in belonging and finding purpose, developing passion and work ethic, friendships, and overall growth in life skills depends on these important programs. Student success is my priority.

Support Quality Teachers and Staff

Focus on great teachers, instructional accountability, rigorous academics, and quality educational pathways with career technical and arts education. Provide teachers with the tools and resources they need to do their jobs well, demand more classroom teacher input on issues affecting student instruction, engage parents and classified employees.

Strive for Excellent Neighborhood Schools

Our students deserve excellent neighborhood schools. As your trustee, I always put the needs and well-being of students first. I will strive to realign attendance boundaries so students track through their neighborhood schools and allow “unrestricted” access for district students who prefer another choice.

Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) are the reason some students excel in school.

Aim for Smaller Classes

I will seize opportunities to reduce class sizes and minimize combo classes in kindergarten and first grade, ensure everyone’s right to safe, learning and work environments. Taxpayers deserve assurance our education dollars are effectively being spent in the classrooms and that there is fiscal transparency.

Ensure Safety for ALL Students

SVUSD needs to foster an innovative, fact based, creative and inclusive culture that inspires all students. I pledge to evaluate and improve our district’s culture and school safety.
